They transferred him to a hospital and the doctors gave him four hours to live. He survived and after a few days he refused to stay in the hospital because he preferred to die in the gardens of his Institute (the Raman Research Institute of Bangalore) surrounded by his flowers. In his laboratory he is collapsed died of natural causes on November 21, 1970.
